Frequently asked questions
How do Inline Inkjet Printers work??
Inline Inkjet Printers are fastened to a production line conveyor or packaging machine and as a product passes, a sensor triggers the print that has been programmed into the controller. The print is automatically printed onto the passing prodycts
Can Inline Inkjets print on uneven or round surfaces?
As the name suggests, inkJET printers spray ink across a short distance and so can handle uneven or round surfaces within reason. Typically, the spray distance is from 2-5mm, but can be up to 10mm for the 12.7mm/0.5″ printers.
What sort of maintenance is involved for cartridge-based inline inkjets?
Thanks to the simplicity of cartridge-based inline inkjets, very little maintenance is required. There are no valves, filters, ink-lines, pumps, seals or nozzles associated with other inkjets, so what little maintenance there is can easily be achieved by the user, therefore avoiding expensive service maintenance costs.
Do you need a technician to install these inline inkjets?
These inkjets are able to be installed by the average DIY’er or maintenance person. The systems come complete with convenient installation brackets to allow for maximum configuration. Our support team stands ready to assist if you have any questions or need guidance.
How does an inline inkjet “know” when and where to print?
A sensor will “read” a product passing in front of the printer. Bentsai Inline Inkjet Printers come with an internal sensor set just underneath the cartridge, and the systems are also supplied with an external sensor in case the internal sensor has trouble reading the product. In addition, specialty sensors are available such as registration mark sensors or label-gap sensors. A delay function on the controller “holds” the print until the preferred location and the mounting bracketry allows for up/down positioning higher or lower on the product
